Some games not launching with builds 20257 and 20262

Since build 20257, the Assassin's Creed Origins, Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Assassin's Creed Valhalla games are no longer launched. I was hoping that build 20262 would fix the problem, but it doesn't. So I have to go back to build 20251 for these games to work.

    im agree, this not anti cheat, because im still can play the crew 2 and watch dogs legion

    I don't think it's the anti-cheat software. I have tried your start arguments but nothing has changed. I have found some logs from the game it seems like launching some network API's and this one crashes. Have somthing changed in the network security at build 20257?

    Hi everyone!

    It is probably an error regarding the anti-cheat or the anti-tamper protecton.

    This is why it works on Geforce NOW and other streaming services.

    In some cases, You can launch the game without the anti-cheat but You can't join online games.

    Eg (for BattleEye protected games):

    Ubisoft games are often protected by Denuvo, Easy Anti Cheat or BattlEye (Steam versions are also protected by Valve Anti Cheat).

    They are well known for causing GSODs, crashes and startup issues with your games if You are using an Insider build.

    The Insiders builds could have modification in the Kernel (where these softwares work).

    These patches colud take weeks because these protections are not developed by Microsoft.

    Then the same issue (or similar) will return in a future build.

    If You're taking part in the Insider Program with your primary machine (not recommended) choose the BETA or the RELEASE channel.

    In the DEV channel these errors are highly frequently.

    I can confirm still not working on 20270 have reverted back to 20251 and games work great. I'm hopeful that Microsoft will address this issue have been on feedback hub as well and have had no response from Microsoft. I don't want to but I am seriously considering quitting the dev channel, I'm started to get annoyed now, I want to update but cannot, it seems like we are being ignored due to the fact this is 3rd party I.E Ubisoft and not an MS or Xbox related issue with there apps or software.

    You are absolutely not being ignored. As I stated previously, we're investigating. Some issues take longer to resolve than others. This can be especially true when it comes to issues that arise with 3rd party software. These are preview builds and these things may happen from time to time. I understand it can be frustrating, but it is to be expected.
