How to remove annoyances from Taskbar and Settings?

Over the past two or three Insider Releases, I've noticed a couple of things being added that I can't find a way to remove or hide.

  1. This sort of weather widget near the notification tray on my taskbar. It seems to be linked to Microsoft News even though I have removed Microsoft News from my system. It is also broken to begin with, taking a while to decide to refresh the weather and the widget also randomly disappears when I hover over it or click on it. And I cannot find a way to turn it off. Please tell me how to turn it off.

  1. The more frustrating one is this annoying popup in the System Settings that asks me to reset my web browsing settings to "Microsoft Recommended". Basically make me use Edge + Bing. I cannot find a way to make this go away either. This is frankly inexcusable behaviour on your part. I spend a not-insignificant amount of time and money downloading and testing Insider builds and I do not need to be told what browser I should be using, ESPECIALLY IN THE SYSTEM SETTINGS. I know what I am using and why I am using it and as long as you keep pushing Edge in such insidious ways, I will never use it.

I am running Windows 10 Pro Insider Preview, build 21322 [I know there's a new one, but I haven't had the time to update it yet.]

    Hi,

For #1, there are a number of known issues hence you feel it a bit broken.

For #2, it looks like that is something new. I agree that you should have control of your settings - does the popup in the third screenshot automatically open when you open settings? If not, I suggest not paying attention to it.

There are some things that MS tests in the preview build, and not necessarily they would ship to the Public release. So your Feedback matters. File a suggestion in the Feedback Hub for this:

FYI The new Edge is based on Chromium so if you are using Chrome, suggest giving Edge a try. I have Edge and Google as default and I see that my settings are set to recommended.
