How do you complete this Microsoft/Bing Rewards search for 10 points?:

UPDATE: Microsoft/Bing seem to have finally fixed this. I typed in 'illness' or 'illness symptoms' on the Edge mobile app and it completed, but I think it'll work anywhere using Bing now, with any relevant phrase or word.

It took them exactly 3 months to fix, whilst they continued to use it broken several times.

Feeling symptoms?

Search on Bing for any health

conditions or diseases to learn more

about the symptoms.

Learn today >

On Bing I have searched for symptoms, like dizziness and itchiness, etc, and diseases including leprosy to green monkey disease, plus, "Symptoms of Covid", etc.

I never get it to complete, be ticked off, and give me the points!

Broken or requires a very specific phrase.

NB: I think this is a UK-only problem. Anyone saying they completed it with a Bing search for a certain symptom or illness is probably not in the UK.

Bing | Microsoft Rewards
Bing | Microsoft Rewards

A program that grants points for using Bing search, which users can redeem for gift cards, sweepstakes entries, or charitable donations.

In this instance, using a VPN as diagnostic tool can be extremely helpful in excluding your own equipment as a fault and thereby does not breach the Ts&Cs, regardless of the Mods Note. The fact that it worked is the point that MS should be looking at. It shouldn't have worked because logging into rewards from two different countries in the same day should, and has, prevented the awarding of points for the remainder of that day, even if you return to your base, or starting country in the same day. Therefore, logging in normally in the morning, then via a VPN, shouldn't have worked. The fact that it did adds to the evidence that this specific 'search for points' task is broken.

I have made 473 searches trying to fulfill this task and I got a very similar response from MS support that others have mentioned, shown here:

    "How are you?

Good day! My name is Rye of Microsoft Rewards support, and I am more than willing to help you with your issue in which you can't complete one of your account's offers titled "Feeling symptoms?". I can understand the importance of being able to complete the offer that can give you additional points. Let me help you solve your problem.

After further review, we have verified on our end that there is no back-end issue preventing you from completing the offer to earn points.

All you need to do to complete the offer is that after clicking on the tile, you need to refine your search to better match the offer.

We hope this information helps in addressing this issue. Thank you for your continued participation in the Microsoft Rewards program.

Your feedback is important to us. After this interaction, you will receive a separate closure email with an opportunity to tell us about your experience.

    Best Regards,

    Rye

Having already searched many diseases, including the more common searches like influenza, high cholesterol, sciatica, depression, and the recent leader, COVID-19, plus multiple variants of 'The Big C', thru to more specific and rarer issues like Autonomic Dysreflexia, Huntington's and even diphtheria, then searching them all again with multiple variations of "what are the symptoms of..." added to the illness or disease search, still nothing worked. So, like many have already mentioned, I was offended at the accusation that failing to trigger the reward was my own fault or that of my devices. (Nor did I appreciate the condescending comment regarding any personal importance of collecting additional points.)

With 490 people selecting "I also have this", along with over 2000 posts and comments across the large selection of MS, Windows, X-Box and Android forums on the internet, I'd expect MS to have taken more of an active interest with this, and the other, issues frequently raised regarding shortcomings with the MS Rewards program. It is also interesting to note that the majority of those who've experienced this particular issue are UK or Ireland based, with a few in NL, BE, FR, LX, DE and ES.

was it worth it 473 searches FOR 10 PTS? it does not work and as previously stated search takes you to blank MSN start page, Least task has vanished for now guess it will reappear at a later date 16 pages here of pointless entries
