How can I disable Copilot in Bing search engine?

The most annoying feature by Microsoft on a miniature scale when using mobile devices.

Scrolling through search results when using Bing search engine on mobile devices automatically switches over to the Copilot tab. There should be a switch in Search Settings (attached pictures) to disable Copilot in all search results.

Hi there, I am John J.D., a fellow Microsoft user like you.

I understand your frustration. Unfortunately, there isn't an option to disable Copilot in Bing's search engine settings, as it's integrated into the browsing experience. We're all users here, and Microsoft employees don't often visit the community, you can provide direct feedback to the Bing team by using the Feedback option at the bottom of the search results page.

In the meantime, I recommend downloading the Microsoft Edge app or the Bing app, as this feature isn't present in those platforms. I understand how frustrating this can be, and I hope this workaround helps improve your search experience.

Just a quick update:

The Microsoft Bing team has added a feature to disable the function that opens Copilot/Bing chat when scrolling down or attempting to refresh the page.

You can disable this feature by clicking on the Menu icon (≡) and toggling off "Scroll to open Copilot".

    First of all: What was Bing is now Copilot. Copilot is a search engine AND so much, much more.

    Yes, google is intrusive and uses some very unappealing practises. It nor other search engines don't offer all Copilot does, at all.

    And to complain about AI is trying to deny the future. AI is eventually/soon going to permeate all of computing and all search engines; MS & Copilot just happen to be the trailblazers. One may as well accept AI, accept that it is here to stay. Bing/Copilot is very good & will continue to mature & become even better than it is now.

    Slight correction... Bing is NOT a browser; it is a search engine.

    I don't have what you are complaining about in my mobile. It has Edge & the Copilot app and the resulting experience is most pleasant.
    I have been in IT for 25 years and would absolutely not want any other browser or search engine/computing 'assistant', ever.

    There is nothing helpful having the unfortunate attitude that AI is being "forced", it is merely a technical evolution that is going to be part of our lives.

    It is, also, false that MS folks don't read or respond to posts in this Forum.

    Copilot & AI the future?😳 For who? Money & data grabbing rich🤑🤑 individuals like Bill Gates 'Billy Goat' to control us?🤮🤮 The only future is 🗑🚮 if this carries on.

    No one has asked consumers for our opinions on creating it. AI is man-made and whatever is man-made will never reach perfection and will always have flaws that leads to destruction. Its like trying to make a perfect cake with a dent cake tin.🤦🏿‍♂️

    I noticed in the recent Windows 10 Pro updates that you have made Copilot as an independent app, which I uninstalled ASAP. I've been in IT for nearly 25 years and I prefer Freedom of Choice & consent.

    I understand the confusion.

    Copilot sources answers over the internet as it is a language model. Since my answers are public and available on the internet, Copilot may use them. You can check the reference link under Copilot's chat and see if it referenced the answer to this thread. Copilot can use what I said word for word, as it is from the same company.

    spent 20 minutes trying to get rid of it. wasted time. Easy resolve...Google search just became my default instead and Bing just got tossed out the window into the street...yay!! problem solved.

    If I type in this I get this I get copilot if I hit enter the dissertation by copilot starts. Yes I can scroll down ad see the search engine results however the hang up and dissertation is annoying AF and it should not be the default to have to scroll pass a master thesis to read something from a human being.
