are my headphones charging?

I have just ordered and received a pair of Surface 2 headphones. The instructions say that when i connect them to charge, the white LED should flash while charging, and remain on once fully charged.

With my headphones as soon as I connect, then white LED flashes once then remains off.

Are the instructions incorrect, or is it possible there is a problem with my headphones?

Thanks,

I'm very glad to hear that the headphone is charging now. The headphone can fully charge in less than 2 hours and battery life is Up to 18.5 hours of music listening time1 or up to 15 hours of voice calling on Microsoft Teams2. UPDATE: yesterday the headphones announced 14 hours run time left. But this morning I connected them to my laptop via bluetooth and left them running while I went out. After 3-4 hours they showed zero charge on windows and the message heard on the headphones said they needed charging immediately.

I connected them, and THIS time the white LED started to flash slowly - indicating that they were charging. After 4 hours (I am not sure how long they should take to charge) the LED is showing a steady white light, suggesting that they are fully charged.

I will run them again and see how long the charge lasts. At least the basic charging indications seem correct today.

Hi, thanks for the prompt reply. I could not see a formal way to contact Microsoft or ask support question about this other than via this Community.

Initially, I took them out of the box, and assumed that they might need charging. So I immediately connected them with the supplied cable. I tried first connected to my computer USB, then when the led flashed but then stayed off, I tried them connected to a USB charger - same result.

I have tried a different cable - no change.

I was able to pair them to my Windows laptop, and when I switched off they announced 14 hours charge remaining.

I will try leaving them on for a few hours, and try again to place on charge, to see if anything changes.

    Hi peacheater,

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Community. We're sorry for the trouble this has caused you. I'll be asking few questions to isolate the issue.

Were you able to pair it?

What device do you pair it with?

Are you using the USB cable that came with it?

See this link for Surface Headphones topics, you may also troubleshoot your headphones using the same link.

I'll be waiting for your answers so I can provide resolution.

    Kind regards,

    Lavenia
