Surface Laptop 3 - When watching videos audio precedes the video

Hello,

I recently just purchased a Surface Laptop 3 15" AMD/8GB RAM a couple of days ago, and have noticed this issue since I've started using it.

Whenever a video is played either on Twitch, YouTube, Netflix, etc. after about a minute the audio will proceed to get further ahead of the video causing a horrible desync. I've used Chrome, Firefox, and Edge all to no avail.

I've tried updating the drivers on the laptop through the Microsoft site with the MSI installer, but that didn't work. I also tried to change the Realtek driver to the standard high definition driver but then the sound wouldn't even play so I had to revert that. I'm assuming that this is an issue either with the graphics not having updated drivers or the audio driver not being updated. I can't find updates for either of these drivers.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Same problem here with same computer model: Surface Laptop 3 AMD Ryzen 5 2.1 GHz. Same Windows version and OS build as NickkToast. Audio/video match on Edge but not in other browsers.

This issue was happening for me with the Surface Laptop fresh out of the box. It also seems a lot of other users are having the same issue as I am. User BoKyuKim also said he tried resetting his surface and it did not work.

I am also having this issue with my 15" Surface Laptop 3 with the AMD processor. I think started around a week ago.

As a final note - I returned my Surface Laptop 3. After seeing all the issues with screen cracking on the aluminum case versions, the overall slowness of the laptop, and the audio not playing correctly I decided enough was enough. The price point of the product does not justify the quality whatsoever. I would suggest anyone who is also reading this to strongly consider returning their laptop if they are able. Thank you to all who have attempted to help me solve this problem though.

When using a usb headset, No problem with Chromium browser.

I think it's a problem with the Realtek sound driver. Any advice?
