Surface Laptop 3 - When watching videos audio precedes the video

Hello,

I recently just purchased a Surface Laptop 3 15" AMD/8GB RAM a couple of days ago, and have noticed this issue since I've started using it.

Whenever a video is played either on Twitch, YouTube, Netflix, etc. after about a minute the audio will proceed to get further ahead of the video causing a horrible desync. I've used Chrome, Firefox, and Edge all to no avail.

I've tried updating the drivers on the laptop through the Microsoft site with the MSI installer, but that didn't work. I also tried to change the Realtek driver to the standard high definition driver but then the sound wouldn't even play so I had to revert that. I'm assuming that this is an issue either with the graphics not having updated drivers or the audio driver not being updated. I can't find updates for either of these drivers.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

    Hello,

I have had exactly the same the same issue with the Surface Laptop 3. After i contacted the store they gave me a new one straight away (this was not Microsoft but www.bol.com). The new laptop had exactly the same problem.

As i wanted to give both of the laptops back to the store with a system recovery i tried to reinstall them. Both of the laptops crashed while trying this. I have got my money back now and bought a Lenovo yoga which is working like it should, and for half the price.

Shame on you Microsoft! They should stop selling this laptop but they don’t really seem to care about their customers.

My advice to everyone: bring it back to the store and buy another laptop.

    Cheers!

    Jasper

I've had the 20H2 update for a while, it didn't fix anything for me.

I also installed the 20H update which did not fix it. Then I went into the settings and disabled Hardware Acceleration and that fixed it.

Pretty Sure that won't work. If that would have been the solution, we would have fixed it a long time ago,
