Surface Laptop 3 - When watching videos audio precedes the video

Hello,

I recently just purchased a Surface Laptop 3 15" AMD/8GB RAM a couple of days ago, and have noticed this issue since I've started using it.

Whenever a video is played either on Twitch, YouTube, Netflix, etc. after about a minute the audio will proceed to get further ahead of the video causing a horrible desync. I've used Chrome, Firefox, and Edge all to no avail.

I've tried updating the drivers on the laptop through the Microsoft site with the MSI installer, but that didn't work. I also tried to change the Realtek driver to the standard high definition driver but then the sound wouldn't even play so I had to revert that. I'm assuming that this is an issue either with the graphics not having updated drivers or the audio driver not being updated. I can't find updates for either of these drivers.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

    I also did all those updates. but you cannot jump to conclusions with this issue. I have opend multiple windows playing video adn after an hour or 2 one in one of the video's the audio preceded the video again.

    So unfortunately I think it did not work.

    Hi,

    I've had the same problem (15 inch AMD Ryzen 5 128 GB) as well. What helped for me was:

    1. Run AVG Driver Updater (you can use the free trial);
    2. Run AMD auto detect driver (AMD Drivers and Support for Radeon, Radeon Pro, FirePro, APU, CPU, Ryzen, desktops, laptops)

    Hopefully this will help you as well.

    I have returned the surface laptop as well and i have bought a Lenovo yoga Slim 7 now which has been excellent so far.

    Its cheaper, faster and i have no issues experienced yet. I would surely recommend it.

    So no solutions in this thread solve the problem, Microsoft is clearly not working on it, the mods won't even respond. I think if you have a Surface 3 and you are having these issues, the best thing you can do is return the laptop, I have been having the same issues, and I will be returning my laptop. The only real problem I have is trying to find a $1500 laptop that isn't trash. Shouldn't be difficult, but it is.
