Surface Book Battery Life - what are you getting

Hi everyone,

I am not doing anything to intensive with my Surface Book.  Web, email, onenote, outlook.  I am not getting anything near 12 hours of battery life and 4 if i am lucky.

Right now it says I have 33% battery life and have an 1 hour and 26 minutes remaining??

What are you getting?

    I'm pretty sure with the battery non-removeable they would just swap out for a new SB. But we all know the battery issues are with every SB device since launch including new SB's. Microsoft is apparently still working on a fix. There are workarounds to improve battery life but I'm sure you've seen those in the forum.

    Yeah I've got 5 hours consistently on the laptop with some web browsing / excel / one note. I think I got a dud, has anyone gone through the warranty process with the battery?

    Hi guys,

    I have been using my SB for 1 month and can only get 6 to 6.5 hours battery life with the keyboard attached. This is with having maybe 3-4 tabs in Edge open and Excel/Word open as well. Microsoft Support told me this was normal battery life, but I simply cannot believe this, as every single review I have come across says it should get at least 10 hours.

    Anyone else having the same experience?

    You can check your battery usage history in the Settings app(Under System-> Battery Saver ->Battery use) where you might be able to find the culprit of battery drains.

    What they advertised, and explicitly noted, is the optimal battery life of a specific task(which is video playback) and sure that is nowhere near reality where different people have different usage: Some are just doing web browsing and light email editing , while some others do heavy multitasking with a lot of things going in the background. The only way to be truthful to reality would be like "battery life varies from 2 hrs to 12 hrs, depending on usage" but no manufacturer advertises like that.
