Surface Book Battery Life - what are you getting

Had the exact same thing happen to me.

Same thing here, sometimes not even 3 hours. Same exact model as yours. Unacceptable.

I am also wondering how all the professional reviewers get 10-1 hours and the normal user gets 5-7.....

Probably because the early reviewed units didn't have Windows Hello and a few other features available (which drown battery life.)

I've found that I get good battery life as long as I don't close the lid and invoke sleep.  As soon as sleep occurs, my Book battery goes to **** in a hand basket.

I'm patiently waiting for the January fix.  I have Microsoft Complete and I know the people well at my Microsoft Store having bought a number of computers there since they opened.  I'm very confident in my Atlanta Microsoft Store support.  I'm also very confident that this will be fixed.  As for now, I'm just shutting down before I close the lid.  Booting up my SSD is fast, so it's just a minor inconvenience for the next few weeks.  I don't want to give this computer up as cosmetically it is perfect and software-wise everything runs perfectly except for sleep.

With hibernation enabled instead of sleep, and screen at suggested brightness setting, I'm easily getting 7-8 hours of daily use.
