Surface Pro 2017 turning off or hibernating randomly!!!

For some reason my new Surface is shutting off randomly. I check the setting and a few other things but it's still randomly turns off without warning. I'm losing some of my school work because of it. Is anyone else having this problem?

Hey Everyone,

As of 7/14, the fix for this issue has completed testing and is now live, please go update your Surface Pro via Windows Update to get the latest download. You can obtain this fix by checking Settings> Update & security > Windows Update

The Surface Pro Update History page has been updated with the details of this release and the update is also available on the Surface Pro Drivers and Firmware page as part of the MSI installation package available for download.

    Unfortunately the random hibernation didn't go away.  I have done the last resort.  I have returned the problematic Surface Pro (I5, 8GB) and got another one (I5, 4GB).  So far so good - I have not experienced random hibernation all day.

    7/10 Update: Wanted to provide a quick update, we believe we have identified the issue, and are currently testing a fix that will be delivered via Windows Update.

    Can you confirm when this will be delivered by Windows Update?  A timeline as to how long we need to put up with this would be useful in helping making a decision as to whether we should swop it out for something a little more reliable.....

    Agreed! A timeline is essential.

    Which surface model does not have this issue of shutting down unexpectedly? My SKU says: Surface Pro i5 Mod

    This is the one I received last week to replace the battery issue on my first Surface.
