For some reason my new Surface is shutting off randomly. I check the setting and a few other things but it's still randomly turns off without warning. I'm losing some of my school work because of it. Is anyone else having this problem?

Hey Everyone,

As of 7/14, the fix for this issue has completed testing and is now live, please go update your Surface Pro via Windows Update to get the latest download. You can obtain this fix by checking Settings> Update & security > Windows Update

The Surface Pro Update History page has been updated with the details of this release and the update is also available on the Surface Pro Drivers and Firmware page as part of the MSI installation package available for download.

    Yikes.

Quite literally in the process of wiping mine & reinstalling Win 10, prepping it to take to the MS store tomorrow.

    MS has dropped the ball.

Sad day, just arranged a full refund on out two new Surface Pro’s.

After spending 30 minutes on the phone to surface support they had no idea that there is a problem. All I wanted was a acknowledgment from Microsoft that this problem exists and that they are working on it otherwise I would have waited.

I also have this problem when using my Surface Pro 2017. It always seem to involve some movement of my hand or head. Such as reaching to use the touchscreen or tilting of my head. My initial reaction was the "Save me power when my device knows I'm away setting". But disabling that option did not make any difference. My Surface Pro required me to press the power button to start again. So it wasn't just the screen turning off.

One thing I'd like to add that may be useful is that when my Surface is connected to my Surface dock. Which is nearly 50% of my usage, I never get this problem.
