Surface Pro 2017 turning off or hibernating randomly!!!

For some reason my new Surface is shutting off randomly. I check the setting and a few other things but it's still randomly turns off without warning. I'm losing some of my school work because of it. Is anyone else having this problem?

Hey Everyone,

As of 7/14, the fix for this issue has completed testing and is now live, please go update your Surface Pro via Windows Update to get the latest download. You can obtain this fix by checking Settings> Update & security > Windows Update

The Surface Pro Update History page has been updated with the details of this release and the update is also available on the Surface Pro Drivers and Firmware page as part of the MSI installation package available for download.

    Yeah same. If I run the trouble shooter it doesn't find anything like it did the first time.

    Latest update applied from June 28, 2017 was applied and did not solve the issue.

    Seems better (happens less frequently) but issue still occurs.

    I think I figured out a solution.

    On the task bar, click on the battery slider. Move it to better performance.

    Open Settings, click on System, click on Power & Sleep.

    Scroll down to Additional Power Settings.

    On the left tab pane click, Create Power Plan. Enter a name for your plan, I entered Custom Plan.

    The default power plan is Balanced. I’m pretty sure that’s where the issue lies. Click on the next button then move the sliders to your desired plan. Click Create.

    Be sure your new plan is selected before closing the panel.

    Since I created my own plan I haven’t experienced any shut off issues. 

    Hope this helps, it fixed mine.

    EDIT: Well, it worked for a short day and a half, unfortunately the problem returned. Scrap my original post as being a solution.

    what exact settings did you select? it may make a difference..
