For some reason my new Surface is shutting off randomly. I check the setting and a few other things but it's still randomly turns off without warning. I'm losing some of my school work because of it. Is anyone else having this problem?

Hey Everyone,

As of 7/14, the fix for this issue has completed testing and is now live, please go update your Surface Pro via Windows Update to get the latest download. You can obtain this fix by checking Settings> Update & security > Windows Update

The Surface Pro Update History page has been updated with the details of this release and the update is also available on the Surface Pro Drivers and Firmware page as part of the MSI installation package available for download.

Yes I was able to restart using this method after some searching.

For now, disabling hibernate in command prompt seems to have things running smoothly.

    Thank you for this suggestion.

tried it and just 10 seconds ago, it fell asleep again...

I guess I have to send the unit back. and again, I will be without a device for at least a week... this is such a frustrating process; waited a week to get the device, even tho I pre-ordered it.

the no-communication in this forum from MS if they are working on a solution for this problem, does not help at all.

I looked at a lot of reviews for the SP 2017 and apparently non of the reviewmodels had this problem. Good to know, that if you are a tech review, you will get the "good" products.

Ps.: just happened again while writing this post.
