For some reason my new Surface is shutting off randomly. I check the setting and a few other things but it's still randomly turns off without warning. I'm losing some of my school work because of it. Is anyone else having this problem?

Hey Everyone,

As of 7/14, the fix for this issue has completed testing and is now live, please go update your Surface Pro via Windows Update to get the latest download. You can obtain this fix by checking Settings> Update & security > Windows Update

The Surface Pro Update History page has been updated with the details of this release and the update is also available on the Surface Pro Drivers and Firmware page as part of the MSI installation package available for download.

Request a repair or a replacement online or contact the customer service.

I had the problem, and I asked for a repair ticket.

I got the ticket from Microsoft. I printed a label and sent the Surface Pro to the Microsoft service (in Germany), for free, of course.

Then, after 5 days I got a brand-new Surface at home and I have not experienced any further problem.

Does this still hold up for you?

I had my surface pro 2017 less than a week now and don't really want to send it in again allready.

I'm still on W10 1703, could this be a reason? (Does 1709 include some additional fixes that will stop my SP from going to sleep randomly?)

Interestingly enough I've gone days without it happening, other days it happened twice in an hour. It is not influenced by ambient lighting and I didn't change any of the power settings.

Going to try and re-install the Drivers for the SP.

Please tell me I'm not the only one still having this on a brand new Surface after Microsoft "fixed the issue".
