For some reason my new Surface is shutting off randomly. I check the setting and a few other things but it's still randomly turns off without warning. I'm losing some of my school work because of it. Is anyone else having this problem?

Hey Everyone,

As of 7/14, the fix for this issue has completed testing and is now live, please go update your Surface Pro via Windows Update to get the latest download. You can obtain this fix by checking Settings> Update & security > Windows Update

The Surface Pro Update History page has been updated with the details of this release and the update is also available on the Surface Pro Drivers and Firmware page as part of the MSI installation package available for download.

    Hello,

I had the same problem and it seems that could be a kind of hardware. I opened a support ticket and I sent my equipment back to Microsoft. After 5 days I got a brand-new Surface at home that works smoothly.

I am quite happy with the Microsoft service and the quality of my Surface Pro.

I had previously a MacBook Air and an iPad and I do not miss at all Apple products.

I am still having this problem. Seems it appears when using an additional external monitor display. I am unable to use this computer in class because when I am using the projector it consistently goes to sleep in the middle of the presentation.  Any tips to improve this one?
