For some reason my new Surface is shutting off randomly. I check the setting and a few other things but it's still randomly turns off without warning. I'm losing some of my school work because of it. Is anyone else having this problem?

As of 7/14, the fix for this issue has completed testing and is now live, please go update your Surface Pro via Windows Update to get the latest download. You can obtain this fix by checking Settings> Update & security > Windows Update
The Surface Pro Update History page has been updated with the details of this release and the update is also available on the Surface Pro Drivers and Firmware page as part of the MSI installation package available for download.

This has not helped! I bought my machine a week ago - need to fix this random hibernation issue before my return/refund window closes!
I have a total of three Surfaces in my household, and the auto-hibernation issue was present in two of them. One Surface just needed re-installing the firmware available for download on Microsoft's website to fix the issue, and the other... well, I'm not sure, because a support rep did several fixes on it - firmware reinstall being one of them. He also "repaired" Windows (reinstall with files preservation) and used some command (cmd) to repair some files, or something. I don't remember exactly, sorry.
Either way, I feel you all, and hope that your problems get fixed soon. Surface is a great device when it works as it should. And when you get a unit with small light bleeding.
