For some reason my new Surface is shutting off randomly. I check the setting and a few other things but it's still randomly turns off without warning. I'm losing some of my school work because of it. Is anyone else having this problem?

Hey Everyone,

As of 7/14, the fix for this issue has completed testing and is now live, please go update your Surface Pro via Windows Update to get the latest download. You can obtain this fix by checking Settings> Update & security > Windows Update

The Surface Pro Update History page has been updated with the details of this release and the update is also available on the Surface Pro Drivers and Firmware page as part of the MSI installation package available for download.

    according to

    https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/surface/2017/07/14/update-for-surface-pro-13-july-2017/

the download SurfacePro_Win10_15063_1706007_0.msi that is offered has the

    update.

    run the installer..

    please let us know results.

    Thank you Barb.

I've installed the update, restored full hibernation with the powercfg command and now I will keep the system running to see if the update has fixed the issue for me too. I will let you know.

The firmware update appears to have fixed my random hibernation. Will test all day to make sure.

it should show up if you manually go to Settings, Updates and check for updates.

    >>That page says that it is downloaded automatically but has not happened here so far...

That's what I keep doing and almost each time there is an update for Windows Defender definitions, but after that it says: the device is updated... no trace of any firmware update...
