For some reason my new Surface is shutting off randomly. I check the setting and a few other things but it's still randomly turns off without warning. I'm losing some of my school work because of it. Is anyone else having this problem?

As of 7/14, the fix for this issue has completed testing and is now live, please go update your Surface Pro via Windows Update to get the latest download. You can obtain this fix by checking Settings> Update & security > Windows Update
The Surface Pro Update History page has been updated with the details of this release and the update is also available on the Surface Pro Drivers and Firmware page as part of the MSI installation package available for download.

I agree!! I just realised I have the same.
I like the screen settings at lowest, and when I am doing several things at once; I see the screen trying to adjust the brightness (like now); no hibernation yet... But let's see..
When I think back; that could have been it for me as well with the other issues.
update: I just had the hibernation issue as well. Problem is NOT solved.
Yesterday's update (KB4025342) hasn't had any effect on the issue for me.
I think I've realised that the issue I have is due to the Surface trying to adjust the screen brightness according to the brighness/darkness of whats currently being displayed.
I like to run the device with the brightness turned down to pretty much 0% and its at this setting that the hibernation occurs when the displayed content changes sufficiently.
To be fair, I didn't see anything mentioned in the update list and.or notes about hibernation issues.
I updated last night as well, but haven't used the machine long enough to have an hibernation moment (yet).
Will check and revert once it happens, but here's hoping....
But we do want answers; because otherwise I am returning my machine as well.
My Surface Pro updated early tonight, then the random hibernation happened again about half an hour after the update. So the update tonight clearly didn't solve the problem.
