For some reason my new Surface is shutting off randomly. I check the setting and a few other things but it's still randomly turns off without warning. I'm losing some of my school work because of it. Is anyone else having this problem?

Hey Everyone,

As of 7/14, the fix for this issue has completed testing and is now live, please go update your Surface Pro via Windows Update to get the latest download. You can obtain this fix by checking Settings> Update & security > Windows Update

The Surface Pro Update History page has been updated with the details of this release and the update is also available on the Surface Pro Drivers and Firmware page as part of the MSI installation package available for download.

How long do you think until the fix is available? Trying to decide if I should return the machine while still in the return window or wait for the fix.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hey Everyone,

7/10 Update: Wanted to provide a quick update, we believe we have identified the issue, and are currently testing a fix that will be delivered via Windows Update.

Just throwing it out there.  I updated my Surface Pro about 1030-11pm tonight.  At around 11:10p, it did the random hibernation once again.  Whether the update had the fix or not, does not appear my random hibernation issues are resolved as of yet.

Can you tell us if this is a hardware issue which can be patched or a software issue? As a customer, I would like to know if I should exchange for a new one when I still able to.

I just got an update about an hour ago. Not sure if it was a patch for the random hibernation problem but I'm planning to check and verify as soon as I get back home.
