For some reason my new Surface is shutting off randomly. I check the setting and a few other things but it's still randomly turns off without warning. I'm losing some of my school work because of it. Is anyone else having this problem?

As of 7/14, the fix for this issue has completed testing and is now live, please go update your Surface Pro via Windows Update to get the latest download. You can obtain this fix by checking Settings> Update & security > Windows Update
The Surface Pro Update History page has been updated with the details of this release and the update is also available on the Surface Pro Drivers and Firmware page as part of the MSI installation package available for download.

Unfortunately the random hibernation didn't go away. I have done the last resort. I have returned the problematic Surface Pro (I5, 8GB) and got another one (I5, 4GB). So far so good - I have not experienced random hibernation all day.

I have never used a mouse, always touch pad and mine goes to sleep randomly. Ive returned it once already due to 2 or 3 hours battery. This one is better battery (7-8) but shuts off (not sleep or hibernates) several times a day.

I bought mine a few days ago. I use mine for games but the random hibernation happens mostly while doing some light browsing and YT Videos. It'll hibernate about an hour of using it. And then a few more times if im using it longer.
I noticed it happens mostly when I use it extensively/for longer periods of time. About 1 to 2 hours of usage. Although I dont notice it getting too hot as I have a case on it.
I dont use a keyboard. Using the pen from time to time.
