For some reason my new Surface is shutting off randomly. I check the setting and a few other things but it's still randomly turns off without warning. I'm losing some of my school work because of it. Is anyone else having this problem?

Hey Everyone,

As of 7/14, the fix for this issue has completed testing and is now live, please go update your Surface Pro via Windows Update to get the latest download. You can obtain this fix by checking Settings> Update & security > Windows Update

The Surface Pro Update History page has been updated with the details of this release and the update is also available on the Surface Pro Drivers and Firmware page as part of the MSI installation package available for download.

Mine has been quite good the last few weeks but  since time is running out and its an expensive piece of hardware and MS has said nothing I'm going to return for a refund and purchase again regardless. I hate having doubts about a new device.

I am also using the ArcTouch Bluetooth mouse but this is not the cause of my hibernation. I normally get random hibernations when my surface is undocked from the type cover and is used as a tablet.

Sometimes I find that running intensive games (kids puzzle games) for some reason, takes my surface into hibernation.

Just thought I share my experience with the ArcTouch.

I just got mine from local bestbuy store two days ago. It is an i5/8/256 model. I didn't run into any issues using it until tonight. The tablet just went to sleep mode while I was watching movie using windows store Netflix app.. my first reaction was power drained, but it was not the case. There was 75% battery left when this happened. I don't jave any accessories attached to it when this happened...Now I really hope it is not some hardware problems. It gonna be lots of headaches to return it along with all the accessories purchased with it..feel really disappointed :(
