For some reason my new Surface is shutting off randomly. I check the setting and a few other things but it's still randomly turns off without warning. I'm losing some of my school work because of it. Is anyone else having this problem?

Hey Everyone,

As of 7/14, the fix for this issue has completed testing and is now live, please go update your Surface Pro via Windows Update to get the latest download. You can obtain this fix by checking Settings> Update & security > Windows Update

The Surface Pro Update History page has been updated with the details of this release and the update is also available on the Surface Pro Drivers and Firmware page as part of the MSI installation package available for download.

Update: I haven't had a problem with it hibernating yet so far so good but I did notice a new problem, every once in a while my computer will get this faded multiple black lines in the middle going horizontally. It comes and goes. It only happens when it's on battery mode, never happens when its plugged in. You can't really notice it but it's like the computer wants to go out or die. Another problem is battery life; I'm not really browsing but I'm mainly doing school work and I'm not getting a whole days worth of battery life.

I'll be calling Microsoft about the problem with the black lines.

I am experiencing this problem as well.  It has been extremely annoying especially during presentations for example.

I originally thought that it is the mechanism in windows for the setting "Sleep when windows know that I am away." feature but even after turning that off, it didn't help.  What I have noticed however is that this happens only in a bright environment.  I haven't had this occur to me in a darker work environment.  Not sure if this is related to anything.

Had my Surface Pro M3 shut down on me this morning while in browser on web. Pressed power button to restart and had to re-enter my login info. Browser appeared on page where I was at.
