For some reason my new Surface is shutting off randomly. I check the setting and a few other things but it's still randomly turns off without warning. I'm losing some of my school work because of it. Is anyone else having this problem?

Hey Everyone,

As of 7/14, the fix for this issue has completed testing and is now live, please go update your Surface Pro via Windows Update to get the latest download. You can obtain this fix by checking Settings> Update & security > Windows Update

The Surface Pro Update History page has been updated with the details of this release and the update is also available on the Surface Pro Drivers and Firmware page as part of the MSI installation package available for download.

We are having this on both our Surface Pro's. They are both i5 with 8Gb models.

I am also having this problem, I received the new Surface Pro on the day of release but have only used it for about 3 hours since then and this has happened about 5 times.

After reading this thread I will check the log next time it happens.

I am using it in tablet mode with no peripherals attached (since Microsoft thinks its alright to make the accessories available for a "laptop" a month after release, in the UK anyways), on wifi. It has happened with both battery and plugged in.

    Model: i5, 8GB, 256GB

This is extremely frustrating, it is an expensive tablet and this should not be happening. This needs to be fixed or at least responded to by MS ASAP.
