For some reason my new Surface is shutting off randomly. I check the setting and a few other things but it's still randomly turns off without warning. I'm losing some of my school work because of it. Is anyone else having this problem?

As of 7/14, the fix for this issue has completed testing and is now live, please go update your Surface Pro via Windows Update to get the latest download. You can obtain this fix by checking Settings> Update & security > Windows Update
The Surface Pro Update History page has been updated with the details of this release and the update is also available on the Surface Pro Drivers and Firmware page as part of the MSI installation package available for download.

Still happening every time I turn on my new Surface Pro. Usually it will occur 10 minutes after startup, then randomly every few hours. Frustrating. I've installed every firmware update and windows update to no avail. I really don't want to format and reinstall as this sounds ludacris.
Microsoft - please fix this or let us know the final solution. You're not going to successfully take over the world unless you create happy customers by adequately supporting your flagship products. :(

In assume your issue can't be fixed by software. You need to get a replacement to get rid of it.
Yes is so sad. I had that problem one yesr ago ine I bought the surface pro, nothing solved the problem. No firmware uldates worked, nothing. Then I contacted support vis chat and they sent me a new one and after I received the new one, with the RMA I returned the bad one, of course, to return the bad after receive the new one they asked me a card but nothing was charged, just was the procedure.
But this not finish here, after receive the new one, the problem wasn’t like the returned surface, the returned surface almost each 30 minutes it turned off. The new one made some random shut downs during the day, I could work more, but then I applied the same updates Immade to the retruned surfsce pro (in settings of surface pro) and since that day I never had the problem again is incredible stable, is my main computer and never turns off hehe, incredible, like I disabled screen protectors and auto sleep, sometimes I forget to turn off and I leave all night like that but still on.
I think the problem is software and hardware. If updates not work, then you need to return. If mine worked with the uodates of almost one year ago, it means for this bug, must be solved with the updates of almost one yese ago, if is up to date the surface and still turning off then nomither wat, but return.
My problem was fixed completely… I opened a RMA and sent my old Surface Pro to Microsoft Service. After a week I got a brand-new set that is working amazing from the first time.
You need to get a new Surface taking advantage of your guarantee.
