For some reason my new Surface is shutting off randomly. I check the setting and a few other things but it's still randomly turns off without warning. I'm losing some of my school work because of it. Is anyone else having this problem?

Hey Everyone,

As of 7/14, the fix for this issue has completed testing and is now live, please go update your Surface Pro via Windows Update to get the latest download. You can obtain this fix by checking Settings> Update & security > Windows Update

The Surface Pro Update History page has been updated with the details of this release and the update is also available on the Surface Pro Drivers and Firmware page as part of the MSI installation package available for download.

I'm also having the random hibernate issue. Never lost any data, pc resumes where I was. However it is a bit annoying... I am not using any accessories.

Got my fingers crossed that it gets fixed soon enough.

Ive already had one i5 and one i7 device both doing the same thing and I suspect its software related.

If it doesn't get fixed via an update in the next 29 days I will go for the return

I have the exact same issue. Infact my surface just did this about 10 minutes ago while I was trying to research the problem. DOesnt matter what I am doing it will just randomly hibernate itself. When I wake it back up it returns to where I was. Very annoying. Just spent good money on upgrading to Surface from a MacBook. Wonder if I should be going back to Mac if Microsoft have strange issues like this. I thought the Surface was supposed to be a reliable device.
