For some reason my new Surface is shutting off randomly. I check the setting and a few other things but it's still randomly turns off without warning. I'm losing some of my school work because of it. Is anyone else having this problem?

Hey Everyone,

As of 7/14, the fix for this issue has completed testing and is now live, please go update your Surface Pro via Windows Update to get the latest download. You can obtain this fix by checking Settings> Update & security > Windows Update

The Surface Pro Update History page has been updated with the details of this release and the update is also available on the Surface Pro Drivers and Firmware page as part of the MSI installation package available for download.

    Hello,

Despite having the latest updates and updated firmware, Surface Pro continues to hibernate randomly.

There are several customer reports and Microsoft have not been responding for the last two months.

I understand some users might not have experience and can post unrelated issues, but you will find several experienced user posts who provide a detailed list of ongoing problems despite having the latest firmware (I emphasize, despite having all firmware and Windows updates)

Apparently, there are still problems with Microsofts Error Reporting feature and/or another bug. Unfortunately, no one from Microsoft is taking seriously.

When we bought this product, as a user, we all had higher expectations from Microsoft. We paid to the reputation, but apparently, "Microsoft" is not the same "Microsoft" that we knew in the past! There is a major problem/bug with their flagship hardware, and they don't even take it seriously hundreds of complaints.

    Another Disappointed User.

7/12 Update: Just wanted to provide additional information that this fix was not included in the 7/11 Windows update, as testing still continues. I will update this posting when the update is available, also the Surface Pro Update History page will also be updated with the details when it launches.

7/10 Update: Wanted to provide a quick update, we believe we have identified the issue, and are currently testing a fix that will be delivered via Windows Update.

I appreciate this reply, but my Surface Pro 4 says it is updated today (9/15, two months after the update announced above), and it is shutting down randomly more often than ever.  Help, please!

    Hi

just bought my i5 surface pro one week ago. bought it for presentations and work but this glitch is bugging me out. I also updated to latest firmware and still got the problem. Happened yesterday when using onenote and no charger connected. battery went to 80% and screen went black and windows logo appeared when I pressed the on-button.

Nothing happened when it went down to 70%. But this is really annoying, I need to be able to rely on this thing working when im doin presentations. please fix this asap. I love the surface pro in comparison to the ipad, but this just makes me wonder if not the locked apple system is more stable and I dont want to go back :/
