For some reason my new Surface is shutting off randomly. I check the setting and a few other things but it's still randomly turns off without warning. I'm losing some of my school work because of it. Is anyone else having this problem?

Hey Everyone,

As of 7/14, the fix for this issue has completed testing and is now live, please go update your Surface Pro via Windows Update to get the latest download. You can obtain this fix by checking Settings> Update & security > Windows Update

The Surface Pro Update History page has been updated with the details of this release and the update is also available on the Surface Pro Drivers and Firmware page as part of the MSI installation package available for download.

@BryanH please see previous posts since the Windows Update push. This is not resolved.  Feedback?

Same here, i5 4 GB. I call the updates BS, and demand that Microsoft deals with the issue for real.

I have had a surface pro i7 1tb 16gb 2017 model for 4-5 days.  Randomly shutting down once or twice a day while working in different applications.  Able to use power to turn on and resume.  Windows updates have all been applied.  Any updates for a fix or should i return the product?

Mine hasn't had this issue since Microsoft's update. Based on how some of you describe your issues, it doesn't sound like the same issue most of us were having before (hence the lack of replies lately).
