For some reason my new Surface is shutting off randomly. I check the setting and a few other things but it's still randomly turns off without warning. I'm losing some of my school work because of it. Is anyone else having this problem?

Hey Everyone,

As of 7/14, the fix for this issue has completed testing and is now live, please go update your Surface Pro via Windows Update to get the latest download. You can obtain this fix by checking Settings> Update & security > Windows Update

The Surface Pro Update History page has been updated with the details of this release and the update is also available on the Surface Pro Drivers and Firmware page as part of the MSI installation package available for download.

    August 06, 2017

    Hello,

I have a Surface Pro 2017 and installed the latest Microsoft firmware to solve the random hibernation problem (Surface - Firmware - 7/3/2017 12:000:00 AM 233.1763.257.0")

The problem was not solved completely.

Please try the following scenario and you will see that Surface still goes to random hibernation after performing the following task:

        - Turn on and attach to the power cable.

        - Do not perform any task for 30 minutes.

        - Unplug from power and wait 30 seconds.

        - Surface will go to hibernation randomly without any warning.

I disabled ALL hibernation options from the Power settings and I have the latest Windows updates as of August 6th.

Would you please let me know if you plan to publish an updated firmware to solve this problem?

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

What you need to do in order to fix this issue require a lot of work.

You must download from microsoft a recovery image from this surface pro 2017.

Then create the image with a pen usb 16 gb.

    After this follow this link

in order to recover your surface pro.

I have done this with my surface and no more hibernations.
