After installing system updates on 02/17/16 for Windows 10, the Surface Detach icon in the taskbar is grayed out and when I mouse over it, it says "Surface Detach: Detached" when it's actually attached and connected to the keyboard. Keyboard works fine but when I try to detach, I have to hold the keyboard detach button for over 10 seconds before the light turns green and I hear the detach sound.
Also, since this started happening, after detaching, the screen no longer rotates in Tablet Mode. Tried locking and unlocking Autorotation and nothing will rotate the screen anymore.
Not sure if these two problems are related.

FYI, your problems can likely be resolved by disabling fast startup. We are still waiting on an update from MS.

I totally agree. Apparently Microsoft wants us all to abandon them and go to Apple or Google for software and hardware.
Does Microsoft even know why this is happening? I don't think you do. Suggesting it is due to improper update installation is not the reason. Can Microsoft give us a solution or an update for this issue? My surface book is completely up-to-date and all my updates have been properly installed, yet I still have this problem (i.e. "surface detach: detached" when it is in fact detached, and windows hello IR camera not turning on during login). It seems that every day or every second day I need to run the reboot (by holding down the volume up and power buttons together for 15 seconds). After paying $4K for this surface book I should not have these problems AT ALL!
So when I go to move the screen, Or even touch the top of the tablet bit to change volume, It sometimes then pops up Attached, and do you want to switch to tablet mode. Then I go to check the NVidia control panel and it says no NVidia card recognised. To fix I have to unattach and reattach. Is anyone else having this problem? Is it firmware or hardware?
EDIT: I have noticed however, After it does this glitch, Both batteries are still usable keyboard and everything it just doesn't recognize the NVidia dGPU
It is a bit ridiculous that we've spent $2500 on a laptop that should be top notch, and it can't even tell if its attached to the keyboard or not. Come on Microsoft, don't make me regret not buying a MacBook.
