Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter with Surface Pro 3 Resolution Problem

My Surface Pro 3 is fully updated with the latest firmware and updates and the wireless display also has the latest updates.

When I have my bluetooth on and I connect to the wireless display adapter, my TV's max resolution that I can set is 1366 x 768 but when I turn my bluetooth off first and then connect to the wireless display adapter I can set my TV to 1920 x 1080.

It's kind of annoying to have to turn bluetooth off first before I connect to my tv. Is there something I can do to fix this issue?

    Ruth - additional information:

    • The issue appears to present itself as long as any bluetooth devices are connected (mouse, pen, etc).
    • The issue happens when the SP3 is wireless or when docked (with wired LAN and power).
    • The issue can be consistently reproduced.
    • The SP3 is fully updated.
    • The MWDA does full 1080P every single time with Android devices with no issues.

    I will be home later today and will test using my home MWDA that is connected to a different brand TV - I highly expect the same results.

    Thanks for the help Barb but I figured out why I was having the problem...

    Whenever I have my Sony Xperia Z3 Compact phone connected to my Surface Pro 3 with bluetooth the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter would connect to my TV at 1366 x 768. When I un-pair my phone from my Surface Pro 3, everything works fine and my Surface connects to my TV at 1920 x 1080 resolution.

    It's weird but I much rather un-pair my phone then have to turn Bluetooth on and off every time I want to use the wireless display adapter.

    If I just connect to the adapter in mirror mode it sets the resolution at 1366 x 768. I'm only trying to change it because it's not the right resolution.

    I usually use the adapter to extend my display so the surface and TV run at different resolutions. 

    Only when I turn bluetooth off before I connect it automatically sets the proper 1920 x 1080 resolution.
