Bluetooth Issues Since Surface Updates - 5 August 2021

The Bluetooth on my Surface Pro (5th Gen) has not been working properly since the Surface Firmware Updates this morning. I have to restart to get it to work and then it only works properly for about 5 minutes. I have tried rolling back and reinstalling the Marvell driver. Also the Bluetooth troubleshooter doesn’t fix it. Running that troubleshooter causes Bluetooth to completely stop working. Will you please fix this urgently as it is a major issue for me?

Many thanks Brenda and others for their contributions. Very oddly, since turning my Surface on this morning, Bluetooth (BT) has been working for the last 4.5 hours, but, of course, it may fail again at any moment! I think that those with continuing problems, should also put some feedback on the Feedback Hub.

It may be a longshot, but I suspected that the Your Phone' app may have been interfering with BT since the firmware update. Late yesterday, I had an unusual in-app update notification in the 'Your Phone', which I actioned. I say unusual because Your Phone app updates usually come via the Store and this didn't. So, I'm wondering if anyone else is using the Your Phone app and whether actioning the in-app update has changed the BT issue for you.

I'm having the exact same issue, When I run the troubleshooter I get the error:

    Check Bluetooth Radio Status

Marvell AVASTAR radio adapter has a driver problem.

I really hope we get a resolution to this soon!

I've tried rolling back the driver, uninstalling the driver, checking for updates from Microsoft.

Bluetooth works for about 5 minutes, then the icon completely disappears.

Running the troubleshooter worked the first time. It said restarting radio adapter.

Then after each subsequent times I got the above errors.

Checking in to report that sadly, changing to a generic Bluetooth driver did not work for long either. It's still showing as a Generic Bluetooth Adapter in my Device Manager, but when I check its properties, it also says "No drivers are installed for this device".

This continues to be a huge problem. Hopefully, Microsoft understands this. It's unfortunate that no one from Microsoft has responded since your initial post 3 days ago as I've no doubt there must be multiple reports of this issue beyond this thread😕

Same problem on a Surface Pro 6 - bluetooth stops at random times - usually ~2 hours after reboot - no keyboard, no mouse, no headset. Reinstalled bluetooth device drivers for all three, still occurring. Agree this is a MS problem as it started the next day after an update.

Many thanks again GFernandez. Yes, I did try rolling back the driver and that resulted in similar problems, but I think when you restart, it updates it to the new driver anyway. Still, like you, I'm fed up with looking for workarounds now. We need the MS fix.
