Well, it died (using the generic driver). But it died when I connected to my work network via VPN. Not sure if the generic driver doesn't play well with VPN's but this is when it happened.
Bluetooth Issues Since Surface Updates - 5 August 2021
The Bluetooth on my Surface Pro (5th Gen) has not been working properly since the Surface Firmware Updates this morning. I have to restart to get it to work and then it only works properly for about 5 minutes. I have tried rolling back and reinstalling the Marvell driver. Also the Bluetooth troubleshooter doesn’t fix it. Running that troubleshooter causes Bluetooth to completely stop working. Will you please fix this urgently as it is a major issue for me?

2021-08-17T21:14:38+00:00 Sadly, I tried this last week when it first started occurring. Worked for a while and then the original problem began again.
I thought I would update here that I picked up a USB Bluetooth dongle to troubleshoot with that and it's been working fine the last couple of days. It's plug and play (Asus BT 5.0 USB BT500), just had to restart the first time. Both BT keyboard and mouse work with it no problems. I'll try connecting with headphones later. That said, sacrificing my only USB port to either a keyboard or alternate BT USB dongle is not a longterm solution It is clear though, whatever issue we're encountering, it is directly related to the windows firmware not being compatible with the Marvell drivers in particular. I do hope one of them issues a patch or update soon.

2021-08-17T17:40:51+00:00 Many thanks fit that Jeega. I have previously tried the Generic Driver. I have tried so many things that I can't remember the series of events after installing that, but it didn't provide a long term solution for me. . Having spent a lot of time on the issue and eventually obtained some wired devices, I'm just going to wait for MS to patch this now.

2021-08-17T17:38:24+00:00 DONE. Will report if anything dies again. Can't WAIT to see what happens regarding this when I upgrade to Windows 11 (no, am not playing with the beta).
