Bluetooth Issues Since Surface Updates - 5 August 2021
The Bluetooth on my Surface Pro (5th Gen) has not been working properly since the Surface Firmware Updates this morning. I have to restart to get it to work and then it only works properly for about 5 minutes. I have tried rolling back and reinstalling the Marvell driver. Also the Bluetooth troubleshooter doesn’t fix it. Running that troubleshooter causes Bluetooth to completely stop working. Will you please fix this urgently as it is a major issue for me?

2021-08-30T10:56:38+00:00 I did a complete reinstall of Windows 10; worked fine for a couple of days, then it started all over again. Got myself a Asus 500 BT usb-dongle; worked fine, but it also starts to give similar problems now... (switched Marvel BT off before installing the Asus). MS please fix this problem..!!

2021-08-29T21:36:07+00:00 Wiped and reinstalled, all was well until 30 minutes later, when the AVASTAR adapter died - again. The nuclear option did not work for me. Back to a corded mouse.

2021-08-26T23:46:52+00:00 Going strong for days at a stretch, hours at a time (SP 5) with...
- uninstall Marvell Bluetooth, AND drivers
- uninstall Marvell Network adapter, AND drivers
- reboot.
- This should get you old drivers, mine were ca. 2016. I have heard that others got some other ones. Just make sure they are old.
- Important: go into "type here to search" and type "gpedit." go through the directories as follows: computer configuration; administrative templates; windows components; windows updates; then click on "don't include drivers with windows components"...change the option on the screen this to "enabled"
- This will keep windows from doing what is "best" for you and reinstalling the new/bad drivers again at a later date.
On two occasions I have had to disconnect and reconnect my BT keyboard. No reboot necessary. Small price to pay.
