My Surface Book has also suffered the dreaded swollen battery that has caused the bottom of the keyboard to delaminate.  The swollen battery is making my $3,000 Surface Book a dangerous hazard due to the possibility of fire and explosion. After many hours of extreme frustration talking to Microsoft Support, I am so upset.  Is there a class action lawsuit for this issue?

I have the same problem with my Surface Pro 4. In the 4th yr after the warranty ended. Microsoft is unwilling to own up to the problem and replace these batteries. They only see it as an opportunity to profit further at the expense of their customers.

I am willing to join any class action suit. I have already inquired through "classaction.com". I am waiting to see if there is any already in progress.

Same issue with my Surface Book 2. Battery started draining and then one day I realized the bottom cover had popped out. Researched online and found out that they obviously are aware of the issue, even have the settings to only charge to 50 percent if you enable it, yet informed no one.

We bought a refurbished Surface for my son for school. He used it for 9 months and in Dec 2020 the two batteries died and swelled. I had to sent it in for assessment and repair even though I knew it wasn’t repairable. (I’m a tech and engineer).

Finally got a refund (but not of the insurance).

Bought a replacement in Feb, and more insurance, and got a screen glass crack in April? Like many others. Microsoft would only offer another refurbished machine, which I returned because it wouldn’t charge.

It’s now mid Aug and the oh so polite but ineffective ”support” staff are still stuffing around…. I’ve just started putting in invoices for my time compiling information etc.

Same problem here and I can't get the support team to respond. I have created several cases and still no reply other than when I first reported it and I received a phone call with a few minutes. Other issues with this group seems to be that most are overseas and not on the us timeline. Last person I talked with was from the Philippines and had roosters crowing in the background.
