The battery stopped charging in my surface 6. A $2000 computer that just works plugged in now. This is the second one that I have and the last one. I will not buy Microsoft laptops anymore.

My Surface Book has also suffered the dreaded swollen battery that has caused the bottom of the keyboard to delaminate. The swollen battery is making my $3,000 Surface Book a dangerous hazard due to the possibility of fire and explosion. After many hours of extreme frustration talking to Microsoft Support, I am so upset. Is there a class action lawsuit for this issue?

2021-04-22T14:50:51+00:00 This is extremely bad on Microsoft's part. I am an I.T. Service Provider for Small Businesses in Tallahassee, FL and I will most definitely stop recommending any Microsoft Surface products to my clients. If any organization has this amount of issues with any particular model/device they should acknowledge it and do something about it. I have a Surface Book 1 that is now bricked after an update. Started out saying the Digital Signature couldn't be validated at Boot, then proceeded to not enter UEFI with Volume Up + Power. Now the screen won't even come on. HP had an issue years ago with their DV6000 line and I haven't sold an HP Product since. I hope Microsoft feels that saving money on repairing these is worth their reputation and future sales. I guess when you are such a big company it doesn't matter and that is very sad.

2021-06-04T07:37:08+00:00 The problem is not only limited to Surface Book. It seems to happen to all Microsoft Surface series! My Surface Pro also has this problem. If anybody starts class lawsuit, count me in.

2021-06-21T20:19:39+00:00 Both my original surface pro 4 and the replacement microsoft sent have suffered the same battery swelling issue. I have read a report identifying the placement of the heatsink as being partly to blame but also the high number of faults reported (whether microsoft acknowledges them or not) . This is obviously a known issue that has not been addressed .
