My Surface Book has also suffered the dreaded swollen battery that has caused the bottom of the keyboard to delaminate. The swollen battery is making my $3,000 Surface Book a dangerous hazard due to the possibility of fire and explosion. After many hours of extreme frustration talking to Microsoft Support, I am so upset. Is there a class action lawsuit for this issue?

Following, I am interested to find out if anyone has attempted to submit a class action suit I would love to be on board I’m experiencing an expanding battery as well and they offered to replace it for 599 unbelievable . I guess they’re waiting for fires to happen before they get sued and settle.
Are there any updates on this? I don't have a surface but my Aunt does, and after 4 solid years of using the original surface, she recently experienced the puffy battery issue. I'm sure she'd be on board for the lawsuit... I guess my question is... will a class action lawsuit get any traction on a Microsoft forum? LOL! Seriously, though any updates on this would be great... Also note that if the surface had access panels replacing the puffy batter would be no issue.... but for some reason (Certainly not a green reason) The company has decided to lock us all out of any simple maintenance on the devices.
Unfortunately, there are no positive responses to the inquiries that I have made to class action attorneys. So, the problem continues. Microsoft just ignores it.
I have the same problem and my laptop screen has now separated and coming apart!!!!.... no luck at all contacting MS about it either.

Apology in advance for joining a late party, i had similar issues as all of you, terrible but luckily i was within my 3 years warranty period when the bulging occurred both the screen and the keyboard popped out, i will share my screen shot if i still had them in the library, story short, after a lengthy phone calls to their pain in the neck service center labelled "Surface support" they honored my warranty replacement to my Sydney address and told me to dispose of my existing defect surface book with performance based model as i haven't been able to return to Australia due to Covid and i have been assigned here in Indonesia, i will be soon, so in my desperation as i haven't got any backup devices to use for my office work i visited one of the unofficial local third party repair shop in the current area that i resided and to my surprise within 15 minutes it's all done, the guy replaced my battery for a mere A$50 instead of A$950 almost A$1000 for a refurbished product that has no guarantee for its battery quality so guys any of you still had your working but bulging SB no matter which version you owned don't just toss it out yet out of rage instead you could try your luck by visiting your round a corner third party repair shop they are more reliable than the self proclaim genius tech at MS service center dubbed "Surface Support"; if there is any lawsuit up in place count me in it is unacceptable to ask customer to shell out more bucks for the defective products that were design flawed from the start in fact they shouldn't leave a manufacturing factory in the first place; as for me, heed my word MS i will never ever touch your rubbish Surface product, i would choose some other competitor instead as they offered a better service the likes of Apple/Dell/HP/Lenovo you name it.
