64 bit emulator surface pro x

I have been asking this question for some time now without a viable answer.

When I was convinced to buy this item, it came with a promise of 64bit emulator being very soon to follow, however this is now eight months later and still no idea how long we will have to wait.

I know that the emulator is currently available on the insider program, but all indicators are that its even more buggy than the somewhat limited 32bit emulator.

I'm surprised that Microsoft have not resolved the issues with this device as it would seem that they intend to peruse ARM technology in many future devices.

If the current state of play continues it could spell out disaster for this platform.

I have to say that there have been many updates for the pro x and it has improved over time, however many bugs and issues still remain and customer support for the pro x is at best very poor with the staff having little knowledge of the technical issues found on a daily basis.

Customer services have so far bricked the device on three occasions requiring hours of reloading and total loss of all data and without resolving the original problem (don't let them reset your device or set up phantom accounts) this doesn't work and creates more problems.

I have to say that given the choice again this device would not be on my shopping list.

The recent updates have made improvements and the device is now more stable than it was but without 64bit bug free emulator its very limited, Great looks and feel but don't judge the book by its cover, 

If you intend to use only store apps and basic 32bit programs for surfing and emailing all is good, but for any serious use it fails badly at present, which is truly a shame as the device has great potential but is poorly supported from my own personal experience.

At present its only a little above windows other failed ARM devices using RT which of course is no longer supported.

    New 2021 SPX has built-in x64 bit emulation...

    This is when you upgrade to Windows 11, which is scheduled to be available free for SPX from October 5th. Note that there is some software that still does not work in emulation correctly, or just does not start (Mathematica 12.3.1). No drivers can be emulated, so you need them prepared for ARM64. Windows 11 offers for developers a new option of "ARM64 (x64 compatible)", that is when only part of the software is compiled as ARM64 native and the modules which are x64 are emulated. MS Office is now working like that.

    If you don't have Windows 11 yet and are still using Windows 10, search for the below YouTube video by Aldo James. He will walk you through the installation process. Also, you should be able to find something on Windows Central's website on how to install it.

    Be aware that once you download Microsoft's 64-bit emulator (1) you wouldn't be able to uninstall it even if you do a reset and (2) your battery life will probably decrease somewhere between 25%-35%.

    My SPX's (SQ1, 8 ram, 128 ssd) battery life went from over 10 hours to around 7 hours (YouTube viewing at 40% brightness, battery saver on). Ended up returning it to Best Buy, getting a replacement, and not installing the 64-bit emulator. Hopefully, Windows 11 improvement the situation.

    Hello guys, there are some news on this topic? I bought a Surface Pro X and I've encountered a problem with the native Windows 10 Home with a Steam game (Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Links!) that runs on 64 bit. I want to update to Windows 11 in order to get the compatibility with x64 non-arm native apps. How can i do the update? Are you sure that once you upgrade to windows 11 all the apps will be emulated at 64bit and the problem with steam games will be resolved?

    Hello Dario,

    I use a surface X Pro too. I was having similar problems with some apps when I was using WIndows 10 but I got the update to Windows 11 2 weeks ago and all my apps are working perfectly.

    What country are you in as I think they are pushing the updates out gradually. I am in the UK
