64 bit emulator surface pro x

I have been asking this question for some time now without a viable answer.

When I was convinced to buy this item, it came with a promise of 64bit emulator being very soon to follow, however this is now eight months later and still no idea how long we will have to wait.

I know that the emulator is currently available on the insider program, but all indicators are that its even more buggy than the somewhat limited 32bit emulator.

I'm surprised that Microsoft have not resolved the issues with this device as it would seem that they intend to peruse ARM technology in many future devices.

If the current state of play continues it could spell out disaster for this platform.

I have to say that there have been many updates for the pro x and it has improved over time, however many bugs and issues still remain and customer support for the pro x is at best very poor with the staff having little knowledge of the technical issues found on a daily basis.

Customer services have so far bricked the device on three occasions requiring hours of reloading and total loss of all data and without resolving the original problem (don't let them reset your device or set up phantom accounts) this doesn't work and creates more problems.

I have to say that given the choice again this device would not be on my shopping list.

The recent updates have made improvements and the device is now more stable than it was but without 64bit bug free emulator its very limited, Great looks and feel but don't judge the book by its cover, 

If you intend to use only store apps and basic 32bit programs for surfing and emailing all is good, but for any serious use it fails badly at present, which is truly a shame as the device has great potential but is poorly supported from my own personal experience.

At present its only a little above windows other failed ARM devices using RT which of course is no longer supported.

    once you haveWin 11, how about other software that did not run under previous emulator? Java 11 64bit apps with native a native architecture modules (PMOD, Romexis etc.), Mathematica of Wolfram...

    Sorry, I avoid Java Apps and IDEs like the plague. See my other post about running Mathematica, it ran fine, the install was slow but the application ran. Killed the battery quickly though.

    I still don't understand why running ML and Analytic Creation apps on a tablet is something, I have a Developer Machine in Azure that has the horsepower needed to do my heavy lifting. The LTE let's me connect to it whenever I need it.

    Hi. I entered Insider with Windows 11 (now build 10.0.22000.65) and I got Java 11 64-bit based application which has some x64 specific code and it run fine. I installed Mathematica 12.3.1 and surprisingly the kernel app work fine, but the main interface crashes at welcome screen. The error 1000 in Event Viewer is in Windows system file xtajit64.dll in system32 folder. I do not find to what this dll is related.

    1. Can you still run Mathematica in current insider build of Windows 11?
    2. Which version of Mathematica you tried, and it worked in Surface Pro X?

    I installed Matlab...Mathematica wax unavailable for trial...

    Just in case if you want to try Mathematica, you may get 15 fay trial at Download a Free Trial of Mathematica (wolfram.com) . You'll need to get Wolfram ID, i.e.e register.

    Maybe you'll get it working on ARM64. Wolfram support denied help, when they got, that I use Windows on ARM. Wolfram developed native Mathematica for Silicon macOS. Developers seem to hate Windows on ARM64.

    iPads market share has dropped from 80% to 33% over the past decade for a reason.

    1. iPads are not computers, they are big iPhones. 99% of what people do on an iPad can be done on an iPhone (email, browse internet, take videos/photos, edit video/photos, game, use MS Office apps (w/bluetooth keyboard), watch YouTube, listen to music, etc.).
    2. Windows has 35 million programs and the Windows Store has over 600,000 apps (and will be including Android apps). Conversely, iPads have 1.9 million apps. Please share the exact number of programs/apps that can't run on SPX? Even if it is 1% that is still 10's millions more programs/apps that can run on SPX than an iPad.
    3. You two come across as trolls who probably don't even on an SPX. If you were dissatisfied with the SPX why didn't exchange it for a SP7, SG2, or SP6? This is what a rational person would do. Rational people who actually need a computer DO NOT exchange it for a tablet that cost more and does less.
