Surface Pro 2.5 i5 4300U 1.9 Ghz 2.5 Ghz

Confirmed i5 4300U. 

Battery life is great too - solid 8 hours and 12 minutes today at work with 11% left at the end of the day (I sell real estate - Excel, Word, Acrobat Pro, Word Press, Outlook, Microsoft Dynamics, Internet Explorer, Bluetooth, WiFi).

SP1 and SP2 users with 4200U are experiencing problems when enabling bluetooh and wifi at the same time. Wifi performance quickly degrades when using bluetooth devices. Have you experienced anything similar with your 4300U? If you haven't,  think a I will request a replacement for my SP2. I don't trust MS to solve these problems by software anymore.

Is there any way (i.e. edition name, tag) to find out upfront which CPU will be included?  I know how to find it out having the device in my hands. But ordering it online would be my preferred choice

You won't get a choice as they never advertised what processor you'd be getting. You'd have to turn it on, go into explorer for My PC, right click and click properties and there it would be listed. 

I imagine that they're phasing out old stock with the "old" CPU. But you'll never know until you get it because, as I mentioned before, they don't state what CPU is used inside. Only that it's the latest generation Haswell :).

Either way, a lot of crying has been going on through the forum, the "old" CPU is a VERY GOOD CPU. So you can't go wrong either way! Good luck with your device!

This has nothing to do with the CPU.  The SP1 shipped with the i5-3317u ivy bridge core, the SP2 has the i5-4200u/4300u based on Haswell.

The issue is likely the WIFI/BT combined chip that has been the same between both the SP1 and SP2.

Are you experiencing WF/BT problems with your 4300U SP2? If you are not, maybe CPU was not the only thing they changed.
