Surface Pro 2.5 i5 4300U 1.9 Ghz 2.5 Ghz

I am not an IT guy.  Did Microsoft release a Surface Pro 2.5? 

I returned my Surface Pro 2 (v. 256GB) because of the poor performance after the failed12.10.13 firmware update. I recall the SP2 I returned having a i5 4200U processor. 

To my surprise, when I checked the System Properties in the Control Panel on my replacement SP2, the processor was upgraded to a i5 4300U @ 1.9Ghz. - 2.5 Ghz.

Perhaps this is old news. Can anyone explain this change or know of any other improvements? Thank you.

    I actually took mine back to Best Buy and they exchanged it there.......40 days after I bought the original.

    unfortunately I purchased mine direct from MS online and they said all they do is exchange for the exact same model. Oh well

    I just got mine replaced and they gave me the same 4200.  I was a bit disappointed by this.

    I just bought a brand new 128GB version from a German store it has a 4200U, LOT No. 1343.

    I was asking the seller about it, they didn't know about a different CPU and not looking forward into replacing it for a different one just because of the processor since it has no defects.

    You won't be able to replace it from Microsoft for that reason, they consider all SP2's as the same model -- there is no 2.5, there's only a SP2.  Even if you did get it replaced, there's no way of knowing which processor might be in it until it arrives -- they don't differentiate :-(
