Surface Pro 2.5 i5 4300U 1.9 Ghz 2.5 Ghz

I am not an IT guy.  Did Microsoft release a Surface Pro 2.5? 

I returned my Surface Pro 2 (v. 256GB) because of the poor performance after the failed12.10.13 firmware update. I recall the SP2 I returned having a i5 4200U processor. 

To my surprise, when I checked the System Properties in the Control Panel on my replacement SP2, the processor was upgraded to a i5 4300U @ 1.9Ghz. - 2.5 Ghz.

Perhaps this is old news. Can anyone explain this change or know of any other improvements? Thank you.

    I keep reading people are trading in their Surface Pro 2 and getting a new one, do you do this within the return period? Or is there actually a good upgrade program going on at BestBuy? I have the first gen 128GB Surface Pro and really could use a 256 SSD AND 8GB RAM (went from 500GB SSHD + 8GB RAM to 128SSD + 4GB RAM :P).

    You should re-read my post 'cause you seem to have misunderstood it. Either ways, just went to a Best Buy store today and their trade-in program is giving $190 for a brand new Surface Pro, so, that's obviously not what the people that kept stating "I traded it in for..." implied. The meant "I returned it and got...", use the right term kids.

    I have not long been back from picking up My Surface Pro 2 256gb from John Lewis and absolutely great news it is the i5 4300u 1.9ghz and to add possibly a bit of weight to what I have seen on other forums the lot number date seems relevant.

    Lot Number Date 1407 as on my package.

    I suspect the 14 represents the year as I saw on other forums that those who had i5 4200u had lot number dates starting with 13**

    My SP2 4200U model died last week so I set an exchange through MS support,

    I received a replacement SP2 with the same 4200U processor. Bummer I was hoping for the 4300U version.

    So just for giggles I did a online chat with MS support and he told me MS is looking into a possible exchange program bur had no further information.

    Has anyone else sent in a broken SP2 with the 4200u processor and received back a 4300U SP2 ?
