Surface Pro 2.5 i5 4300U 1.9 Ghz 2.5 Ghz

I am not an IT guy.  Did Microsoft release a Surface Pro 2.5? 

I returned my Surface Pro 2 (v. 256GB) because of the poor performance after the failed12.10.13 firmware update. I recall the SP2 I returned having a i5 4200U processor. 

To my surprise, when I checked the System Properties in the Control Panel on my replacement SP2, the processor was upgraded to a i5 4300U @ 1.9Ghz. - 2.5 Ghz.

Perhaps this is old news. Can anyone explain this change or know of any other improvements? Thank you.

    I just went to Best buy here in Mountain View, CA and asked for SP2 with lot #1351 or higher, he had 4 boxes of SP2 and 2 of them were 1350 and 2 were 1351, I picked up lot #1351 and came home and checked and it has the latest processor (4300cpu 1.9 to 2.5 Ghz).

    So, definitely lot #1351 and higher is the one to purchase.

    Rx today replacement SP2 256 purchased from MS Store; replacement ordered 01/05/2014.  Got lot# 1352 with 4300 CPU.  Original unit doa when received also purchased from MS Store.  That one came in this huge box that would have held 10 units (no b.s.) and almost no filler it was rattling around.  Got RMA.  Then sent link vi email to agree to return conditions the link was broken.  Had to call in and verbal agree.  Finally got through process though old unit returned.  The new one is working well.

    Under 100% CPU utilization, wouldn't the battery life be identical, since both CPUs have the same rated power consumption (15 watts)? At least theoretically. Intel just designed the 4300U to be more efficient.

    That must be it. I have LOT 1348 and I have the 4200u.

    My Lot#1350 is 4300u, I think I am so lucky. Bought it from Toronto Microsoft Store.
