Yep. I finally took Barb's (and Jo's) advice and bought a USB wifi adapter. What an amazing difference! The one I bought, same one as Jo, was $13 on Amazon. The many hours and days I have spent
with Surface basic and advanced tech support trying to fix this could have been avoided if had just taken Barb's advice long ago :/ Well, it seems "fixed" as I have not had to reboot my router in more than 24 hrs. Woohoo!
As for a class action lawsuit, the wireless driver in the SP3 is obviously defective and Microsoft knows it. Unfortunately, this
Study Shows Consumer Class-Action Lawyers Earn Millions, Clients Little. So if the class got certified and went forward and was successful, we SP owners mightget a small check or a coupon. And that could be put towards the expense of a USB wifi adapter (for those who did not already buy one)! Then again, in the years it would likely take to settle, the SP3 itself would be obsolete. So I'm out. I'm not interested
in helping class action lawyers earn millions. Sorry.
BTW, here is an interesting article from nearly 14 years ago about holding Microsoft liable for defects. It mirrors the same frustrations people are sharing about this. The comments get pretty ugly, but the arguments raised are pretty interesting. http://www.geek.com/news/microsoft-to-be-held-liable-for-software-defects-549284/
I can' really figure out if you are trying to discourage people from sueing Microsoft or not but it sure sounds like that.
Bottomline, when I bought a Surface Pro 3 machine, I did not sign up for non-working wifi, so I have not received what I paid for = Microsoft misleading consumers.
