The easiest way is to go to the properties of NVIDIA Tegra Audio and NVIDIA Tegra Audio Codec and restore the old drivers.

Surface 2 Speaker/Sound Problems

I just purchased two new Surface 2's and I am noticing a significant reduction in volume from the speakers compared to my old Surface RT. The speakers also lack any kind of bass. They are very "tinny" and shallow sounding. When using headphones, there is plenty of bass sound and the volume level is not an issue.
I am also experienceing a significant amount of sound crackling (from the speakers and attached headphones) when streaming video from Amazon Instant Video using both the desktop and metro versions of IE. I do not experience this crackling problem with other sound sources like Xbox music, gaming, or other website streaming video (i.e. YouTube).
Since I was experiencing this on two different Surface 2's, it seems unlikely that this is a hardware issue. This is most likely a software/driver issue. Is there anything that I can do to resolve this problem, other than wait for a possible software or firmware update?

I discovered an update installs news drivers for the sound card (Windows RT 8.1 Drivers 22/10/2013). If you removed sound drivers and don't do this update again, it solves the problem (crakling sound with headphones). At least for me.
Can you please provide the specific update identifier? I am referring to the KB number.

2013-10-31T17:30:00+00:00 This is a bit frustrating as I can see the potential fix and yet need to be patient and wait for it. For example, when playing streaming video through Comcast there is an ad that plays first before the show I want to watch. The ad plays beautifully with no audio crackling or issues at all. The ad ends, the show begins and boom... crackle, pop, stutter. Its so frustrating as the video itself plays back wonderfully and yet the audio problem makes it almost unwatchable - for me anyway. I can tell once this gets fixed, I'll really enjoy the experience but until then my Surface 2 is 70% what I want it to be.

2013-10-30T06:10:20+00:00 I have a different problem. My speakers have no sound anymore. I barely even put my volume to max. I was playing music on 20%. I noticed some crackling in both sides of the speakers. No sound comes out of the speakers, just crackling noise. I am "refreshing" my surface 2 right now..hopefully that will solve my problem.
EDIT: I just did a Refresh. It takes about 10 minutes and KAAAPOW! sound is fixed! hallelujah!
