Surface 2 Speaker/Sound Problems
I just purchased two new Surface 2's and I am noticing a significant reduction in volume from the speakers compared to my old Surface RT. The speakers also lack any kind of bass. They are very "tinny" and shallow sounding. When using headphones, there is plenty of bass sound and the volume level is not an issue.
I am also experienceing a significant amount of sound crackling (from the speakers and attached headphones) when streaming video from Amazon Instant Video using both the desktop and metro versions of IE. I do not experience this crackling problem with other sound sources like Xbox music, gaming, or other website streaming video (i.e. YouTube).
Since I was experiencing this on two different Surface 2's, it seems unlikely that this is a hardware issue. This is most likely a software/driver issue. Is there anything that I can do to resolve this problem, other than wait for a possible software or firmware update?
Thanks.

2014-04-20T14:41:50+00:00 Definitely get a replacement. But go to a Microsoft store if u can and test then out before you get it. That's what I did, and the new ones are definitely louder than my original ones(not blazingly loud, but louder)
Well, I don't think that it's a hardware issue because like I said, the noise it's not present in other video pages based on HTML5.

2014-04-20T12:10:28+00:00 I am still having this problem. If volume is greater than 80 % there is significant crackling / popping.
This is most noticeable on voice. For example watching TV on Hulu or Netflix. The problem occurs using Xbox video with local stored videos. I have updated everything. If I turn off enhanced audio this fixes the problem but the audio is so quite I can't listen to Hulu , Netflix or music. Has anyone found a fix for this yet. I have had this since Oct 2013 and with each update this problem does not get any better. So many updated have been very rocky! I am starting to believe Microsoft cut corners regarding the speakers. This is a very disappointing issues especially when you need to have the volume great than 80%. This plus other issues has turned me off to future surface purchases.
I still have those noises but just with some sources.
