I have a SB3 connected to a Surface Dock which has FullHD touch monitor, USB keyboard and mouse connected to it. I have used this setup without any issues for over 2 years with Surface Laptop 1.
With the SB3 the keyboard and mouse 'stutter' meaning characters are lost or autorepeat due to missing down or up codes. Mouse motion ceases then resumes.

I have tried plugging the mouse into one of the SB3 USB ports and get the same result.
I know others have seen this problem. It should be easy to reproduce. Can someone from Microsoft try this please.
This looks to be a level USB message handling problem. Note that the USB is not unloading.

2020-12-16T15:36:38+00:00 Every time they release a set of Windows Updates (I check daily), I get excited.
Then I am thoroughly disappointed moments after the reboot, when the mouse starts stuttering--and I realize that nothing has been fiiiiiiiiiixed.
Such a minor issue that makes for such a horrible experience while using.
I regret buying this thing. And I did a ton of research too. Hopefully, potential buyers stumble on this thread and know to stay away.

For me for example, this morning it was completely unbearable. Mouse got stuck, keys autotyping like crazy. I tried reconnecting stuff, rebooting etc.
Then I gave up and used it as a laptop in the couch for a couple of hours. In the afternoon, I tried plugging it in again and (knock on wood) it has been working fine for the last few hours...
It seems to me that it starts when the computer has been idle for a while, and once it occurs there is no way to stop it, even shutting down doesnt help.
Until it decides to work again, x hours later.
Would be good to have some kind of work-around, or things-to-avoid until we get the fix...
The thing is, I really love this machine except for this problem. There is no other laptop I want to buy instead at the moment.
Been using a Razer Blade the last 2 years. Noisy, battery swelled, no dock, doesnt work well with multiple screens. The Surface Book is the computer I need!
PLEASE MICROSOFT FIX THIS NOW!!

2020-12-16T16:22:10+00:00 Interesting to see "hardware team". I have suspected it is related to changing power level which could be connection, coming out of standby etc. which might be possible to fix with a firmware update but worst case could require physical hardware change.

2020-12-16T16:29:05+00:00 It is the same for me. Right now it works like a charm but it seems like it is a matter of luck if it does or not.
I have absolutely no clue what is the root cause for this issue and I have also no clue why the issue is gone right now. But I am absolutely sure that it will occure again as long as there is no temporary work around or proper solution for that.
