I have a SB3 connected to a Surface Dock which has FullHD touch monitor, USB keyboard and mouse connected to it. I have used this setup without any issues for over 2 years with Surface Laptop 1.
With the SB3 the keyboard and mouse 'stutter' meaning characters are lost or autorepeat due to missing down or up codes. Mouse motion ceases then resumes.
I have a video of the mouse re I continuously move the mouse in a circle

I have tried plugging the mouse into one of the SB3 USB ports and get the same result.
I know others have seen this problem. It should be easy to reproduce. Can someone from Microsoft try this please.
This looks to be a level USB message handling problem. Note that the USB is not unloading.

I had a chat with MS Support yesterday.
I wasn't very hopeful of any results, since what we done was:
* Install latest windows update (from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10)
* Install latest Surface Book 3 drivers (From here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=101315)
* Install latest Surface Dock 2 drivers (from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=101317)
I couldnt see any of these updates as available in the windows update software, but the support guy sent me the links above.
So far so good, after installing the updates everything worked flawlessly yesterday.
This morning, after waking up the computer, the keyboard LEDs didnt light up and the problems were back. BUT after unplugging and plugging in the keyboard, it seems to be working again.
Before the updates, I never got it to work for more than 2-3 minutes by reconnecting the cables.
So I figure, the problem isnt 100% solved, but now I can at least use the computer until a permanent fix arrives.
UPDATE: Problem is back! After using the computer for a few hours it started again. Rebooting does not help.
The only thing that seems to help (for a while) is to unplug everything except mouse and keyboard. Which is of course completely unacceptable, that's why I bought the dock in the first place.
I have original Dock and applied SB3 updates earlier today. Tttttttttttttttttte stutter is still present. Back to BT-500 workaround.

I agree definitely no fix in the latest firmware. I kick myself everyday for deciding to buy this thing and for not returning it when i first noticed the issue rather than buying and returning multiple docks thinking that was the problem because there's no way in 2020 a computer company could launch a product that couldn't utilize it's USB ports. What a joke.
I've been in contact with MS Support again.
Just wanted to share the information here, they are confirming that they know about the issue and the hardware team is working on a fix. No ETA except "it is going to be resolved soon".
