I have a SB3 connected to a Surface Dock which has FullHD touch monitor, USB keyboard and mouse connected to it. I have used this setup without any issues for over 2 years with Surface Laptop 1.
With the SB3 the keyboard and mouse 'stutter' meaning characters are lost or autorepeat due to missing down or up codes. Mouse motion ceases then resumes.
I have a video of the mouse re I continuously move the mouse in a circle

I have tried plugging the mouse into one of the SB3 USB ports and get the same result.
I know others have seen this problem. It should be easy to reproduce. Can someone from Microsoft try this please.
This looks to be a level USB message handling problem. Note that the USB is not unloading.

My setup:
Surface Book 3 (Windows 10 Pro)
<--(via USB-C)-->
Display (Dell U4919DW with integrated USB hub)
<-- (connected via USB hub of display) -->
Logitech dongle (for keyboard and mouse)
Logitech webcam C930e
<-- (connected via Logiteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeec dongle)
Logitech keyboard K800
Logiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitch mouse Peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerformance MX
So, for me it iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit is not a permanent issueeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee but happpppppppppppppppppens "sometimes" (approx. every second time I connnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnct the Surface Booooooooooooooooooooook 3 to my display.
Any update @Eddy?
It is over *six months* since this problem was reported!

If it is a new laptop I would return it as Microsoft have not fixed the issue. Check back here to see if it is fixed then reorder if still want SB3.
Or move to Bluetooth keyboard and mouse as 'short term' workaround,
David
Hi David (an others)
Please don't list Bluetooth as an option and workaround! It's NOT!
A customer of mine has spent 60.000$ on brand new Surface Book 3. I will not ask them to spend another 3.500$ on buying Bluetooth mouse and keyboards for all their SB3s replacing their fine USBs. Also we invested a lot of time running these devices up with Autopilot, Intune and Microsoft 365 Business Premium licenses. We are sending 10.000$ a year in Microsoft direction - this need to be fixed, period!
The BT-500 is a temporary workaround because it works around the problem. If you have a SB3 that you cannot return then it is an option to use the workaround. The other option is to not use it and become totally and utterly frustrated. In my book that makes using Bluetooth a workaround option. I do not think it is what I should expect from a very high end device but that is another matter.
In my opinion Microsoft should be holding their heads in shame. The fact that it is taking this long to resolve suggests to me that this is not a simple fix and it might not be possible to fix without a hardware modification.
Come clean Microsoft and provide a status update.
