Surface Book 3 - external keyboard and mouse

I have a SB3 connected to a Surface Dock which has FullHD touch monitor, USB keyboard and mouse connected to it.  I have used this setup without any issues for over 2 years with Surface Laptop 1.

With the SB3 the keyboard and mouse 'stutter' meaning characters are lost or autorepeat due to missing down or up codes.  Mouse motion ceases then resumes.

I have tried plugging the mouse into one of the SB3 USB ports and get the same result.  

I know others have seen this problem.  It should be easy to reproduce.  Can someone from Microsoft try this please.

This looks to be a level USB message handling problem. Note that the USB is not unloading.

    I know they will not respond because they know that if they put something out themselves, it will get picked up and alert a much wider audience of the issues. The audience would be than our little thread and kill some sales, probably. We could hope that they'd try to fix the issue or work with the Intels or nVidias or whatever causes a problem silently and release a fix, but we would  most likely be doing so in vain. Making a big stink would in my imagination at least elicit a response, but I doubt the fixes would come.

    I have the same problem. I was hoping the last few firmware updates would resolve these problems but my Surface Book 3 is way too quirky for a $3000 device. It can't even get NIGHT LIGHT working right.

    I think MS have their head in the sand about this problem.  It will only get worse and end up biting them in the bum.

    My system continues to have issues.

    I can keep the system functional if I load the processor as others have suggested, but that has an impact on work. I do a lot of cad and photoshop which need the horsepower at random times, can't keep unloading and loading background apps.

    Given the recent comment about Bluetooth as a possible problem source I have disabled the internal Bluetooth and temporarily switched to an external mouse. Will see if I can get though the day with out mouse and keyboard locking up. Not very helpful if I need to use the stylist.

    Anyone have any friends in the publishing side of the world? ZDNet, CNet, PCMag, Consumer Reports?
